Annual Bloody Jesus Passion Play Makeup FX
For five consecutive years, we undertook the challenging and impactful task of creating Passion Play whipped Jesus prosthetic makeups for a client. Each year, our commitment to realism grew, with the effects becoming bloodier and more convincing. Looking fresh and wet while actually being perfectly dry to the touch, this transformation was so effective that during the poignant moment of Jesus’s big reveal in the Passion Play, some churchgoers were moved to the point of passing out. This project not only showcased our ability to craft intricate and realistic prosthetics but also highlighted the power of makeup FX to evoke emotional and visceral reactions in a theatrical setting, leaving a lasting impression on the audience and contributing to the authenticity of the performance.
